‘Wheedle’s Grove’ is a documentary all about Seattle’s long lost Funk and Soul scene.
Filmmaker Jennifer Maas spent five years putting the film together, only stumbling on the subject by accident. She was originally making a documentary about the infrastructure of a working music scene but when she interviewed Matt Sullivan from Light In The Attic Records she discovered a hidden world of musical treasures, and the many stories that accompanied them.
The DVD was released in March and there is also a compilation album featuring artists from the era. For a little more insight, check out this interview Jennifer did with aquariumdrunkard.com.
